Whether you’re just getting started on your health and fitness journey or making the switch from a gym membership to home workouts, a high-quality mirror is key to getting the most out of your workout!
Store bought gym mirrors are bulky and often lacking in aesthetic. Learn how a custom mirror can help you with your fitness goals and enhance the look and feel of your home’s interior.
Why Are Home Gym Mirrors Important?
It’s no secret—some gyms employ mirrors and lighting techniques designed to make you look better during your workout. We don’t blame them—looking good means feeling good and feeling good about yourself is such an important part of maintaining your motivation to hop on the treadmill, elliptical or hit the weights.
More importantly, gym mirrors help you monitor your form to ensure you are maintaining proper movement throughout the exercise. It can also help you maintain good posture and reduce the risk of strain and injury.
The same principle applies to the home gym—a good mirror can help to improve your focus and performance, which will help keep you motivated to continue your fitness journey.

The Best Home Gym Mirrors
The best mirror for your home gym setup will depend on several factors, but most importantly, your home gym design. Whether you have a separate, dedicated workout room or are using a multi-purpose space, we have some mirror options for you.
Mirrors for a Dedicated Workout Space
If you have a dedicated space for your home gym, congratulations! This is the ideal setup because a separate space helps minimize distractions and keeps you focused on your workout. In this situation, to make your home feel more like a true fitness studio, consider purchasing a large mirror. Here are some other things to consider:
-
Think about the placement of your mirror. Ideally, it should make your space feel larger.
-
Choose a large, wall-mounted mirror.
-
Opt for a mirror with a minimalist frame, or no frame at all.
-
Install the mirror on a wall in front of weight training equipment (like a bench press), or an equipment-free exercise space (think stretches, Yoga, floor Pilates, and more).
-
Don’t forget about lighting. If you have a window in your space, consider placing your mirror on an adjacent wall. Or consider installing lighting on either side of your mirror.
No Dedicated Space? No Problem
If you don’t have room for a dedicated home gym, don’t worry. You can still get a great workout and create a gym feel by using a moveable or stationary mirror that meets your goals.
-
Moveable mirror: Choose a high-quality floor length mirror that is moveable. Store the mirror out of the away in a safe place like a closet when not in use. Set up the mirror in your living room or bedroom when it’s time to sweat.
-
Stationary mirror: Install a large custom wall mirror (preferably floor length, if it fits with your interior design). A large wall mirror can be installed anywhere—in a bedroom, hallway, living room, even your garage! Mirrored closet doors can also be used as exercise mirrors. Leave the mirror in place and bring your workout equipment to the space when it’s time to train.
How to Hang Mirrors in a Home Gym
For large mirrors it’s always best, and safer to choose professional installation, especially in high-traffic areas. Installing a large mirror can be difficult and mirrors of this size represent a significant investment. Worse, improper installation may pose a safety risk to you and others—no one wants to discover a fallen mirror or have one fall mid-workout.
Although we can’t work out for you (wouldn’t that be great), we do offer custom-cut mirrors, custom framing, and of course, professional installation services to help you achieve the ideal home gym setup.
