Looking for a quick, easy and effective DIY solution for cleaning your fireplace glass?

The method we recommend below uses common household items - things you’ll find around your home. Follow these simple steps to clear and clean your fireplace or wood stove glass:

  1. Gather the Materials
You will need tap water, a bowl, a spray bottle, black and white newspaper, paper towels, and fireplace ash to clean the window.
  2. Dip the Newspaper
Dampen the black and white newspaper with tap water and then dip it into a bowl of leftover ashes from the fireplace. Believe it or not, water and ash make the perfect, all-natural fireplace glass cleaner.
  3. Scrub the Door
Use the newspaper to wipe the fireplace glass door in a circular motion to loosen stubborn soot.
  4. Repeat as Necessary
Repeat steps two and three until your fireplace glass is spotless.
  5. Rinse the Glass
When you are satisfied with the results, spray the glass with fresh water. Finish by drying it off with paper towel. Now you are ready to relax by the warmth of your freshly cleaned fireplace!
