I had a great experience at Glass Doctor in Kernersville! I first spoke with Tanner (I hope I have his name spelled correctly) on the phone. He was very helpful and professional in setting up my appointment and helping me contact my insurance company. When I arrived in person, he welcomed me warmly and made me feel very comfortable. There was also another gentleman whose name I unfortunately don’t remember, but he was very kind and helpful as well. The technicians, Parker and Josh, did an excellent job. They were professional, efficient, and did their work very well. The location is a little off the highway, but it is very nice, clean, and comfortable. The waiting area was pleasant, and the air conditioning worked really well. They even offered complimentary water, soda, coffee, and snacks while I waited. Overall, I really appreciated the excellent customer service from everyone. It was a very positive experience, and I would definitely recommend Glass Doctor in Kernersville!

Tanner and Parker are two of the nicest guys you will ever meet and very helpful and knowledgeable. I visited them today to get my rear window fixed and they was making sure that I understood all the aftercare instructions and that I was comfortable with everything before I left. I would recommend this place to anyone no matter if you live in North Carolina or Virginia.

Our commitment to solving your glass-related challenges and meeting your home and auto glass needs is why we continue to be a trusted resource for homeowners and businesses for over 60 years. Whether dealing with a small crack or a major glass disaster, you can count on Glass Doctor for the solution. This includes answering your questions. Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about auto glass services.
-
No. Damaged side windows, rear windows, door glass, quarter glass, and other auto glass generally cannot be repaired. Even small chips in these types of car glass mean replacement is needed. Windshields are different from other types of car glass. A windshield chip may be repairable when it is no larger than a quarter, has not spread into a crack, and is not in a location that affects visibility or the glass structure. A Glass Doctor glass specialist can help you understand the car glass replacement process, outline the timeline, and explain how our Limited Windshield Chip Repair Warranty for Auto Glass applies. Contact your local Glass Doctor to discuss auto glass replacement in Greensboro and request an estimate based on your vehicle.
-
The cost of replacing auto glass in Greensboro can depend on the type of glass required, where the glass damage is, and what kind of vehicle you drive. Depending on your insurance policy, deductible, and coverage details, some expenses may be covered. For accurate car glass replacement cost information, reach out to your local Glass Doctor. They can use your VIN to confirm the right glass, explain your options, and provide clear, upfront pricing. Contact your local Glass Doctor to schedule auto glass replacement in Greensboro and get a personalized estimate with guidance tailored to your vehicle.
-
The time needed for car glass replacement depends on your vehicle, the glass being replaced, and whether the correct glass is available. Your local Glass Doctor will usually gather your VIN, provide a quote, order the glass, and schedule the installation when it arrives. In most car glass replacement situations, same-day service is not available because the correct glass often needs to be ordered before installation. Depending on the location, appointments may be completed in-shop, and mobile service may be available in select areas. Windshield chip repair may be scheduled sooner when availability allows, since no new glass needs to be ordered. Cracks and damage to side windows, rear windows, door glass, quarter glass, and most other auto glass generally call for replacement. If you need windshield replacement, calibration may be part of the process because many vehicle manufacturers require ADAS calibration afterward. Contact your local Glass Doctor to schedule auto glass replacement in Greensboro and get timing, pricing, and guidance tailored to your vehicle.
-
If damaged car glass makes it harder to see clearly or affects the glass structure, driving is not recommended. Even small chips or cracks can spread due to vibration, temperature changes, or everyday road impact. Side windows, rear windows, door glass, quarter glass, and most other non-windshield auto glass typically cannot be repaired after a chip or crack. Since replacement is usually needed, it’s best to schedule auto glass replacement before the damage becomes a bigger safety or security concern. Windshield chips may be repairable when the damage is limited. The chip should be no larger than a quarter, should not have become a crack, and should not be in a location that affects visibility or the glass structure. Windshield cracks generally require replacement. When a windshield is replaced, calibration may also be needed because vehicle manufacturers require ADAS calibration after replacement. Keep your VIN nearby when you contact your local Glass Doctor so they can match the correct glass to your vehicle, review your options, and provide clear, upfront pricing. A Glass Doctor glass specialist can also answer questions about the Manufacturer’s Warranty for Auto Glass.
-
The only type of car glass that may be repaired is the windshield. A chip may qualify if it is no larger than a quarter, has not spread into a crack, and is not positioned where it affects visibility or glass structure. Windshield cracks are generally handled with replacement. Side windows, rear windows, door glass, quarter glass, and other damaged non-windshield auto glass usually cannot be repaired once chipped or cracked. If your windshield needs to be replaced, vehicle manufacturers require ADAS calibration after installation. Your local Glass Doctor can use your VIN to confirm the correct glass, explain your replacement options, and provide clear, upfront pricing. A Glass Doctor glass specialist can review coverage details with you, including the Limited Windshield Chip Repair Warranty for Auto Glass for qualifying windshield chip repairs and the Manufacturer’s Warranty for Auto Glass when applicable. If insurance may be involved, call your local Glass Doctor first for help starting your claim.
