Frequently Asked Questions

Do small chips get bigger?

Chips can grow over time, and if they are left unrepaired, then you may need a full windshield replacement.

How long does it typically take to repair a chip in a windshield?

The average time for a chip repair is only 10-15 minutes. This will depend on the size of the chip, because if the chip is larger, then we need additional time to fill the chip in.

What size chip qualifies for a repair vs a replacement?

Typically, a chip the size of a quarter is small enough to fill. Anything bigger than that we recommend a replacement.

What will my windshield look like after the chip repair?

Each rock chip is different, and most do not disappear fully after a repair. When a rock hits a window, it usually leaves a mark and takes some glass with it. The repair will keep the chip from spreading, but it will not replace the missing glass.
