Double Pane Window Benefits

Seals fail for a number of reasons including age, improper installation, extreme weather or inferior sealant products. IGUs consist of two or more pieces of glass with an insulating spacer tucked between them. The spacer separates the panes and seals the space between them. Spacers can be filled with moisture absorbing desiccant or use a warm-edge spacer technology, known as a super spacer. The perimeter of the window is then sealed with a high-grade sealant to prevent condensation. Glass Doctor of Port St. Lucie also offers IGUs filled with argon or krypton gas added between the panes to increase energy efficiency and insulation.
