How To Clean Glass Shower Doors The Easy Way
We have very hard water here in the Waco, Killeen and Temple area. Shower doors are usually covered in a gross combination of hard water deposits and soap scum. It's really embarrassing to show your guest to the bathroom with a shower door covered with hard water spots, but you must see them to truly appreciate what a miracle this do-it-yourself cleaner is. In the past, even after you have cleaned the glass, it wouldn't look much better because the glass cleaner just couldn't cut through the caked on crud. Can you believe it! This stuff works! You're dying to know the secret aren't you? Well here it is. We found this DIY cleaner and it is fantastic!
Here's the recipe:
- 8 oz. (1 cup) of warm vinegar
- 8 oz. ( 1 cup) of Dawn
Put the vinegar in the microwave for about two minutes to get it warm. Then mix the vinegar and the Dawn in a spray bottle. One cup of Dawn seems like a lot, but you need that much to cut through the scum. If it can cut through grease and baked on food, it is able to cut through yucky shower scum! Spray the Dawn and vinegar mixture on the glass and scrub with a sponge. You really don’t have to scrub hard or for very long. That stubborn stuff should come right off! Have a bucket of clean water to wipe off the soap suds. There may still seem to be a little bit of residue on the glass so just used the glass cleaner to give the doors a final wipe.
