Windshield Repair and Replacement
Don’t wait to get your cracked or chipped windshield fixed. If you keep driving without getting your windshield repaired or replaced, more accidents could be in your future. Be smart, stay safe and visit Glass Doctor® of Harford County today.
Our specialists are trained to restore your vehicle’s glass, ultimately protecting it from further damage. We’ll carefully inspect your windshield, advise you on the best course of action and file all necessary insurance claims on your behalf. However, we do recommend contacting your insurance carrier beforehand to check your car’s coverage.
Cracks and chips in your glass could determine the fate of your vehicle’s windshield. When damage has occurred to your windshield, the glass weakens and the chances of shattering increases. Glass Doctor of Harford County knows the dangers associated with damaged windshields, and we want to help you avoid them.
We do not recommend you try to repair or replace your vehicle’s windshield. Instead of taking unnecessary risks, contact Glass Doctor of Harford County. Our specialists follow the Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) recommended repair and replacement process to ensure a perfect finish.
Repair or Replacement
Our glass specialists will assess your windshield to decide if it’s repairable or if it needs a full replacement. The safest solution depends on three factors:
- Size: If the size of the chip is deeper than 3/8 of an inch or expands longer than three inches, a full windshield replacement is necessary.
- Location: If the chip or crack is located directly in the driver’s line of vision or on the edge of your vehicle’s glass, our specialists will replace the entire windshield.
- Time: The sooner you call, the easiest it is for our specialists to repair your chipped windshield. As time progresses, dirt will begin to accumulate making a replacement necessary.
When it's safe to fix your glass without replacing the entire windshield, we always do. Repairs are easier, cheaper, faster, safer and more environmentally friendly than replacements.
Our specialists complete repairs within an hour. In order to ensure the durability and safety of your windshield, we clean out the crack or chip to make sure there is plenty of room for the repair resin. The resin will then be injected into the damaged area. After the resin has cured, our glass specialists will polish it and your vehicle will be ready to drive.
When we can't safely repair a windshield, a full replacement is necessary. Our glass specialists will remove the damaged windshield and select a matching windshield with the same specifications and design as the original. With every replacement, we include our signature G12® Road Hazard Guarantee, which protects your windshield for 12 months against breakage.
