Mason Jar Madness: Thanksgiving Centerpieces

Mason jars are useful for so many different things, especially table centerpieces! They are easily customizable and affordable for any budget. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s time to start preparing your dining table decorations!

Floating Candle Jars

What You Need

  • Mason jars
  • Glass rocks
  • Small white candles
  • Ribbon

What To Do

Tie a Thanksgiving themed ribbon around the jar and place the glass rocks in the bottom. Next, Fill the jar ¾ full with water and place the candle on top. The candle will float on top and look beautiful once the wick is lit.

Fall Leaves Jars

What You Need

  • Mason jars
  • Fake leaves
  • Sponge brush
  • Mod Podge
  • Raffia ribbon

What To Do

Paint the back of the leaves in “Mod Podge” and apply to the jar. Then paint   the glue on top of the leaves to secure their placement. Then tie a bow of raffia ribbon around the top.

Fall Flower Jars

  • Mason jars
  • Cream/white spray paint
  • Wooden tray/short box
  • Raffia ribbon

What To Do

Flip the jar upside down to paint the jar evenly from top to bottom. Let the jar dry and then tie the ribbon in a bow around the top of the jar. Place any fall flowers (real or fake) inside and place on the wooden tray. Hydrangeas usually fit nicely in the jars. Having at least three decorated jars will make the centerpiece appear complete.

Dried Wheat Jars

  • Mason jars
  • Burlap
  • Lace
  • Dried wheat
  • Glue

What To Do

This is one of the easiest DIY Mason jar crafts. All you need to do is cut a strip of fabric (switch off between burlap and lace) and glue it around each jar. Place a bouquet of the dried wheat inside of the jar. This is a fun look that is authentic and really makes it feel like fall.

Burlap Text Jars

  • Mason jars
  • Burlap
  • Spray paint (fall colors)
  • Letter stencils
  • Brown paint
  • Small paint brush
  • Raffia ribbon
  • Fall foliage
  • Glue

What To Do

Choose a variety paint colors that will match the color scheme of your dining area. Flip the jars upside down and spray paint each of them a different color. Cut a wide strip of burlap fabric for each jar and spell out the word “fall” or “give thanks” (whichever festive word you choose) one letter per fabric strip. Attach each piece to the given jar with glue and tie a raffia ribbon around the top. Complete the look by placing a bunch of fall foliage inside the jars.
