Glass Doctor® of Tulare County is now widely considered to be one of the most well-established and most respected glass repair outfits in the area. We might have only opened our doors just over a decade ago in September 2004, but there’s a rich and illustrious backstory that exists behind Glass Doctor of Tulare County that actually stretches back as far as the early 1900s.
The Origins of Glass Doctor of Tulare County
Just as the calendar ticked over into the year 1917, Frank Lalanne, a modest man born into a family of French immigrants, created a business from scratch that specialized in receiving batches of rubber tires. He called it Lalanne’s Vulcanizing Works, and set up shop in Porterville, California. Four years later, Frank and his wife shifted to the auto business, renaming the company Lalanne’s Auto Wrecking, and in doing so became one of the very first companies in the area to offer auto glass to customers.
By the middle of the century, Frank’s son Gary had taken control of the company, and the tradition of a family-run business continued when Frank’s grandsons Gary II and Jon took the reins. In 2004, a bold rebranding strategy went underway, and Glass Doctor of Tulare came to be.

Glass Doctor of Tulare County has come a long way since its humble beginnings in the early twentieth century. Now a high-quality state of the art glass repair store that offers the finest customer service in the industry, it’s safe to say Frank Lalanne would be grinning from ear to ear if he could see what his ambitious entrepreneurial efforts produced.
