Double Pane Window Services for Edmonton

If you are among the many homeowners dealing with expensive energy bills, inconsistent indoor temperatures and drafty windows, our insulated glass units (IGUs) are your answer. Glass Doctor® of Edmonton has years of experience replacing double pane windows.

If you have noticed considerable condensation building up under the glass panes, an upgrade is a good investment. Although some condensation is normal, too much of it means a seal has broken. If left unresolved, a window leak will allow moisture and outside air into the home. Seals fail for a variety of reasons including poor sealant, frequent weather changes, bad installation or simply old age.

Insulated Glass Replacement

With insulated glass units, homeowners will enjoy an indoor living environment without constant temperature fluctuations. In return, the A/C or heating unit will not have to work so hard to compensate for heat gain in the summer or leaky windows in the winter. IGUs are excellent at improving your home's comfort and energy efficiency all year long.

An IGU is made of at least two panes of glass between which an insulated spacer is placed. The spacer is filled with a desiccant that absorbs excess moisture. The edges of our IGUs are also sealed with a high-grade sealant to eliminate drafts or too much condensation. To ensure the best insulation possible, gases like krypton or argon can be inserted into the airspace between the glass panes as well.

If your current insulated glass windows are in need of replacement, our glass specialists have the knowledge and resources to help. Contact our friendly staff of seasoned experts today to learn more about our IGUs and how they will improve your home.
