Double Pane Windows

If you notice the price of your energy bills suddenly rising, it may be caused by your home’s windows. A barrier between you and the exterior world, windows are the recipients of the harshest weather conditions and extreme temperature changes. However, after some time, windows tend to lose their effectiveness: climate-controlled air begins to leak out while drafts steal their way inside.

At Glass Doctor® of Council Bluffs, we have a solution. Our double pane windows are a type of insulated glass unit (IGU) and consist of two or more sheets of glass separated by an insulated spacer. Some of our double pane windows are filled with a desiccant to absorb moisture, whereas others feature a warm-edge space, such a super spacer. A few models are also filled with argon or krypton for added installation. After installation, we seal all our windows with a high-grade material to prevent condensation for longer.

Benefits of Double Pane Windows

There are a number of benefits to double pane window:

  • Save energy: By keeping the cold and hot air out of your home, you will be able to use your heating and cooling system less. Plus, a consistent temperature will make your home more comfortable.
  • Reduced noise pollution: Another way double pane windows ensure a comfortable home is through lowered noise pollution. The design of our IGUs means that not only does less noise enter from outdoors but you will also transmit less noise. For instance, this means you can play music as loud as you like without bothering your neighbors.
  • Maintain your home’s façade: Our specialists at Glass Doctor of Council Bluffs are often able to install IGUs without changing your current frames, keeping the appearance of your home the same and saving you money.
